Lovable pricing: how the credit system actually works

Lovable pricing sells you a monthly bundle of credits, and everything you do in the product draws from it. You pick a credit volume rather than a feature tier, so Pro at 100 credits and Pro at 800 credits are the same product at different capacities. The mechanics underneath are more layered than the price table suggests: three separate kinds of credit, three different expiry rules, and a deduction order that decides which one drains first.

Key takeaways

  • Monthly plans run $25 for 100 credits, $50 for 200, $100 for 400 and $200 for 800.

  • Three credit types coexist: daily and monthly grants, general plan credits, and purchased top-ups.

  • Unused plan credits roll over but still expire two months after they were issued. Grants never roll over.

  • Hitting zero blocks building outright and pauses your deployed app's backend services.

Flexprice’s Take

Lovable documents its credit system better than almost anyone in this index, and the system it documents is still hard to forecast.

Lovable writes down what most credit vendors won't: expiry windows, refresh schedules, rollover rules and deduction order. It even prices worked examples: 0.50 credits to make a button gray, 0.90 to remove a footer.

The difficulty is structural. Three credit types with three expiry rules, plus a runtime component your end users control, means the same subscription produces different bills month to month. Lovable also changes billing mechanics weekly, so anything you model today has a short shelf life.

Blocking at zero is defensible for a self-serve product. Pausing a production app's database, storage and authentication is a serious failure mode to attach to a billing balance.

Best For

Builders who want a hard spend ceiling and no surprise invoice.

Watch Out For

Anyone running a live app on Lovable Cloud without auto top-up enabled.
