Firecrawl pricing: one credit, one page, until it isn't
Firecrawl pricing runs on a single credit, and one credit buys one page on a basic scrape, crawl or map. That mapping holds on every plan, so a 5,000 page crawl costs 5,000 credits whether you're free or on Scale. What moves the bill is the options you attach: JSON extraction adds 4 credits a page, PII redaction another 4, an X.com request costs 30. The base unit is legible. The modifiers are where budgets break.
Key takeaways
Firecrawl charges 1 credit per page scraped, crawled or mapped, 2 credits per 10 search results, and 2 to 7 credits per browser minute on Interact.
Modifiers stack on the base credit: JSON, question, highlights, audio, video and PII redaction each add 4 per page, Zero Data Retention adds 1.
Plan credits don't roll over below Scale. Annual Scale carries them one month, annual Enterprise two.
Top-ups cost more than plan credits. Standard's plan credits run $0.00099 each; its $5 increment buys 2,000 at $0.0025.

What Firecrawl actually meters
Firecrawl meters credits and publishes what every endpoint costs. Scrape, crawl and map bill 1 credit per page or call. Search bills 2 per 10 results, rounded up, so 11 results cost 4. Monitor bills 1 per page per check. Interact bills per browser minute with a one minute minimum, 2 credits for a Playwright code session and 7 for a prompt-driven one. Agent is in preview: 5 runs a day free, then dynamic pricing on agent tokens, the one undefined figure here.
Modifiers are where a page stops costing one credit. PDF parsing bills 1 credit per PDF page, so a 40 page document costs 40. JSON extraction, the question, highlights, audio and video formats, PII redaction and the prompt injection guard each add 4 per page. Zero Data Retention adds 1. Firecrawl publishes the arithmetic: JSON plus ZDR is 6 credits, JSON plus PII redaction is 9. X.com requests route through the Grok API at 30 credits. Enhanced proxy mode adds nothing.
What decides a charge is whether Firecrawl returned a document, not whether the site returned a 200. A 403 or 404 still costs 1 credit; a scrape returning nothing costs nothing. A threat protection scan bills 2 credits per URL either way, and browser sessions bill their minutes.
How credits work
Credits reset monthly and mostly don't survive it. Plan credits expire each cycle on Free, Hobby, Standard and Growth, while annual Scale carries them one month and annual Enterprise two. Credits you buy stay until you spend them, but expire with the period if you cancel, and partner credits expire after three months. Deduction order is documented, which is rare: purchased credits spend before plan credits and before pay-as-you-go, and don't count against your top-up cap.
Pay-as-you-go buys $5 increments at zero balance: 1,000 credits on Hobby, 2,000 on Standard, 2,500 on Growth, 5,000 on Scale. That's $0.005, $0.0025, $0.002 and $0.001 per credit, so a topped-up Standard credit costs 2.5 times a plan credit. Spend limits work at two levels, a monthly top-up cap rounded to whole $5 increments and a per key limit set daily, weekly or monthly.
What happens when you hit the limit
You get an HTTP 402, unless pay-as-you-go is on. Free accounts hard stop at zero until the monthly reset, because pay-as-you-go needs a paid plan, and a paid account with the limit set to 0 stops the same way without the card being touched. With it on, Firecrawl charges one $5 increment, adds the credits and keeps requests flowing, repeating until your monthly cap. A blank cap means no ceiling. So a burst doesn't fail while a top-up settles, each plan carries an overage allowance of 1,500 credits on Hobby, 30,000 on Standard, 150,000 on Growth and 600,000 on Scale, which Firecrawl says plainly is headroom, not credits you keep.
